About Chai Docs
Our Mission
Chai Docs is the visual storytelling platform focused on creative documentaries, launched in 2025 with a singular mission: to expand and enrich the documentary landscape of the South Caucasus. Formerly the documentary strand of the multimedia platform Chai Khana, Chai Docs now evolves as an independent entity, building on and further developing the body of documentary work produced over the past ten years.
By curating, commissioning and publishing short documentary films, we support creative filmmaking across Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Our Vision
At Chai Docs, we believe that documentary film is a way to connect, to question, to provoke, and to experience. We specialize in representing bold, author-driven documentary shorts, and at times feature-length films, that are unafraid to take narrative and aesthetic risks.
Our vision is to push the boundaries of what documentary can be, finding new ways to tell timeless stories, bringing untold voices to the global stage, and sparking dialogue that transcends borders. Through cinema, we seek to illuminate the hidden layers of Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, offering a deeper understanding of the complexities, contradictions, and beauty that define this corner of the world.
Chai Docs is a place of resilience and transformation, where every story becomes part of a larger, ever-evolving narrative.
